Hello,

a bit about me:

My name is Lisa Essenmacher.  I am a married mother of two living in Burleson, Texas. As far as my background in education goes, I oversaw the Dyslexia program and taught high school reading at Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas, for 14 years. I have been in Education for the past 22 years. I originally obtained my teaching certification through an alternative certification program in the Dallas Independent School District. I have a degree in Communications/Journalism and previously worked at the Dallas Morning News as an editorial assistant in the sports department. I taught junior high in Dallas and then worked for Harcourt Brace, an educational publishing company, before returning to the classroom again in Arlington, to teach high school. I obtained my Masters of Education in School Counseling in December of 2014. I began working as part of the counseling team at R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth in July of 2015 and moved to Applied Learning Academy in July of 2020. The certifications that I hold are Master Reading Teacher (EC-12), Reading (6-12), Journalism (6-12), ELA and Reading (8-12) and Professional School Counselor (EC-12).
